Noticed Hearings:
Caution: Unlike the Clerk’s Offices in, for example, King or Snohomish Counties, the Pierce County Clerk’s Office will not set a hearing by the filing of a generic Notice of Hearing. For a hearing to be set in Pierce County, a specific Pierce County form is required to be filed, for example, a Pierce County Note for Commissioner’s Calendar.
Opening a probate file at the Clerk’s Office requires a completed Pierce County Case Type 4 Cover Sheet.
The Clerk’s Office supplies Letters, so you don’t have to prepare a Letters form.
To determine if there has been a probate proceeding begun in Pierce County for a Decedent, see Pierce County Clerk’s Office Search.
